My Singapore: Little India

May 16, 2012 | Personal, Singapore

If you’re following me on twitter, you may have seen that I decided to go on a solo exploration trip to Little India last week. We’ve been living in Singapore for about 10 months now, and in that time I’ve probably only been to Little India 2 or 3 times, and always for a reason.. never just to wander and explore.

So I took myself and my camera there for the afternoon, and had a wonderful time poking my nose into all the little alleys and shops I found along the way. I’m not normally one to feel completely comfortable with sight-seeing alone, and I did feel a little bit self conscious a few times, but after getting over myself.. it ended up being a wonderful (and strangely liberating) adventure! Here are some of the photos I took :)

What do you think? Should I do more exploration trips around Singapore? There are so many interesting areas here, and I feel like I’ve probably missed some of the coolest parts because I haven’t taken the time to just wander the back streets. I will endeavour to do so more often :)

Workspace Wednesday 37.

May 9, 2012 | Personal, Workspace Wednesday

I was over on Creature Comforts yesterday and saw that Ez had done a post revealing parts of her office as it looks right now. No tidying, no styling.. just as it is, mess and all. And I loved it!

It’s so wonderful to get an honest look at how people live in reality, not the styled perfection that we see most of the time. Ez’s post was inspired by this one by Weekday Carnival in which several bloggers had revealed their true homes.. it’s such a breath of fresh air and really eases my guilt at always seeming to have a messy house. I’m not alone!

So I thought I’d get into the spirit of things and post my office space, as it is right now. I haven’t moved a thing. I hope you won’t think less of me!

Back!

April 9, 2012 | Personal, Wedding

Hello lovely friends! I’m baaaack.. and what an incredible month away I’ve had :)

I’ll go into more depth in another post (once the photos are back!), but in the mean time let me just say that the wedding went beautifully. For all the months that it took to plan, it went by in such a blur that I can’t believe it’s over! Even so, we’re going to have some of the most wonderful memories to look back on from our day.. everything was perfect!

In the weeks leading up to the day, we had the most horrific weather – rain, fog, wind, cold – and we were coming up with contingency plans left, right and centre.. only for us to wake up on the wedding day to find not a cloud in sight. Nothing but sunshine and warmth for the entire day. The photo above was a little sneak peek I was given from our fabulous photographer Bec.. more photos to come soon – I can’t wait!

And the honeymoon.. well.. you’ve seen the photo! It was all clear skies and turquoise water.. :) I’m glad we took lots of photos.. I might need to look back on them this week as I get over the post-honeymoon blues! Like this one.. this was my view this time last week:

Tough life, right? ;)

So while I adjust back into regular life, I’d also like to send out a huge thank you to Donaville and Aude for keeping the blog going while I was away. I’m sure you’d all agree that they did an amazing job!

So long, farewell… see you soon!

March 2, 2012 | Personal

My dear, lovely readers… happy Friday!

I’m extra excited today, because in just a few more sleeps I’ll be homeward bound to finish preparing for our wedding. EEP! In order to concentrate fully on not having a meltdown in the lead-up (you don’t need to see that.. it could get messy), I’m going to be taking a bit of time off from the blog – starting today.

But never fear! I have enlisted the help of two of my favourite bloggers.. Donaville from Discover Paper, and Aude from Heodeza, so the blog will continue on as usual! These two wonder-women will be showering you all with their creative-ness, so get ready!

I know I’ve mentioned them both before, but I wanted to introduce them again for anyone out there that hasn’t had the privilege.

Donaville Herrick
The lovely Donaville is the voice behind the always inspiring, beautifully designed Discover Paper blog. It’s not only full of all kinds of paper inspiration (displayed in a really lovely way), but also perfectly curated holiday Magazines put together by Donaville, and weekly giveaways by some of our favourite paper artists! On top of all that.. she’s a really lovely person! :)

Aude Collioud
Aude is one of the most creative, happy, kind people I know.. and I feel privileged to call her a very dear friend. Aude and I met just over 10 years ago (way back when blogs weren’t invented yet! hehe) when we did a school exchange to each other’s houses (her to Australia, me to Switzerland) and we’ve managed to stay friends ever since. Aude now lives in the Netherlands, and posts the most amazing photos, projects, and recipes from her everyday life on her blog Heodeza.

You’ll be hearing a bit from these two ladies over the next 5 weeks, so please make them feel welcome! I’ll also be dropping in from time to time with my regular posts (‘Words’ and ‘Workspace Wednesday’ among a few others), so you won’t even notice I’m gone :)

See you in early April as a married woman!

Shop closure

February 24, 2012 | Personal, Shop

I had this great idea to write this out on book spines.. but I’m not convinced you can really read it.. oh well! Here it is again, just in case:

The Fellow Fellow Shop will be closed from the 2nd March – 9th April, 2012.

The reason for such a long break is because the week after next I’ll be heading home in the lead-up to our wedding, then we get married, and then we’re going on our honeymoon! Yipee! While I’m away, the blog will still be running as usual with the help of some very special people (more on that next week).

Everything with the shop will be back up and running as normal once I’m back.. nice and sunburned, but relaxed :)

Have an awesome weekend guys, see you Monday!
