Have I really not posted anything since August? Unbelievable. Time is f-l-y-i-n-g! It feels like, in a bid to adjust to this incredible job of being a Mum, I’ve put my head down to focus for a few months, and now I’ve stuck my head up again and found it’s already February. February?! Jeez.
The blog has been on my mind a bit lately actually, wondering if I could and should start posting again. To be honest, I’ve been a bit scared to start, because I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to keep it up and I don’t want to commit to something I’m not sure I can deliver on, you know?
Even though the fog of a newborn baby is lifting, and I’m getting more used to life with a little one, I still find there isn’t much time in the day that isn’t taken up by him (naturally!) and I can’t concentrate on anything else when he’s in the room. Work = No way! But I mean really, who could say no to this face :) :)
How do you other Mums out there do it?? Please wise ladies, tell me your secrets!
So here I am. I’m going to start slow and try getting a few more posts out when I can. And I’ll do my best to keep at it. And I apologise to anyone who’s emailed or messaged me in the past few months.. my inbox has been largely neglected and I’m so sorry if I never got back to you! I’ll try and do better from now on :)
PS. Arlo is now 5.5 months old! He’s just started some solids, is able to drag himself around our lounge room (eek!), and is just the happiest little boy ever. We couldn’t love him more :)
Eeeee! Our new little fellow has arrived!
Meet Arlo :) He made his entrance into the world the Sunday before last and we couldn’t be more in love.
At the moment we’re taking the time to settle into our new routine (read: sleep all day, party all night – exhausted has taken on a new meaning!) and are thoroughly enjoying getting to know our little man. He’s already changed so much from when he was born, so we’re trying to just soak up this newborn phase while it lasts! :)
I know, I know, it’s been aaaaages again. I’m sorry! :(
These past few months have ticked by steadily, and suddenly I’m at 33 weeks, finally finished work, my wonderful Mum visited last week, and I’ve been free to potter around home enjoying some downtime and all-important nesting! Yay!
Luckily, I’ve been feeling pretty good – the Bump is a substantial size now (or at least, it feels like it!) and it’s starting to get in the way – I run into things ALL the time because I’ve forgotten just how much I’m sticking out now. I think I’ve also nearly reached the stage where, if I drop something, there’s some serious consideration about whether it’s really worth trying to bend down to pick it up. Hehe, happy days.
So I just wanted to share some updated bump shots with you, in case you’re interested. I’ve *still* been completely slack on the photo front and somehow missed weeks 26 – 32, but you get the idea :)
Anyone else out there at the same stage of pregnancy? I hope you’ve been keeping well! Not long to go now… eep!
Why hello there poor neglected blog, and to you, wonderful, wonderful friends (are you still out there?). It’s been a little while!
I truly didn’t intend for it to be quite so long between posts, but I’m afraid everyday life’s just been taking up all the space in my mind lately! And sometimes everyday life just needs to be given my full attention.. know what I mean? It’s been a crazy year so far, and is only set to get crazier!
You see, for the past little while I’ve been working on something very important. Those following along on Instagram have already had a sneak peek, but I’ve been doing a little baking! Baking of a new little bun…
I’m currently at 20 weeks – half way, baby! I’ve been really lucky so far with my pregnancy… I’ve hardly had any morning sickness, no cravings, no crazy senses. Just a lot of fatigue and constant hunger! But always for all the wrong foods (muffin pig-out happening here every morning).
We’ve been terrible at remembering to take bump photos (bad first-time-parents!) but we did manage to take this one this morning to mark the half way point. It’s the first time I’ve put on a tight top in weeks, and it kinda shocked me to see how big the bump looks! This is where all my friends who have had kids laugh at me because I’m sure this is nothing compared to how big it’s going to get! The top button of my pants has been undone for weeks too, but I’ve managed to cover that one up fairly successfully so far ;)
So I hope you guys are all doing well, and I’m sorry I haven’t been around much, I really miss blogging! I’ll do my best to keep you posted on the growing bun over the coming weeks/months.. exciting times ahead! :)
Hi you guys!
I just wanted to drop in to see if any of you have you heard of the 100 Happy Days project? If not you should check it out – it’s such a lovely initiative, and a really fun/easy way to start appreciating the things that make you happy every day. We could all use a bit more of that now and then right?!
A few days ago I signed myself up to take part and am posting the happy moments from my every day over on Instagram.. do follow along! Or even better, take part in 100 Happy Days with me :)
