Phew what an epic weekend! We’ve had some friends in town since Friday, so we spent most of our time out and about, doing fun touristy things around here – like boat rides through the city, the Night Safari, going to the observation deck at Marina Bay Sands, wandering around Gardens by the Bay, and of course indulging in our fair share of delicious food!
Catching up with friends is definitely one of my favourite things :)
What did you get up to?
Happy Monday peeps!
How was your weekend? Ours wasn’t too bad, although I’ve had a cold for almost a week now and over the weekend I lost my voice. So I’ve just been wandering around the house squeaking and wheezing, trying to be understood haha.
We did manage to drag ourselves out for an excursion on Sunday afternoon though… we drove to the other side of Singapore to the Changi War Museum, followed by a beautiful walk through Pasir Ris Park. Wow, what a gorgeous park, right on the beach! We ended the day with some yummy dumplings and long chats with friends on Skype (I did a lot of hand-gesturing). Come back voice!
All in all, not half bad really :)
What did you get up to?
Phew, I can’t believe it’s Monday again already! Where do the weekends go? Did you have a nice one, dear friends?
As is more common than not, our weekend was completely centred around food. It started it out on Friday with a trip to meet a friend at a new cafe (Drury Lane) where I had the most delicious Banana Bread with Espresso Butter. Er.Ma.Gawd.Yum.
Saturday got off to a rather frustrating start, involving a framer and less than acceptable framing, so we had to console ourselves that night with an incredible feast of ciabatta, homemade dips, burrata, olives, and prosciutto. And finally, there was Sunday.. wet and stormy all day, there was nothing left to do but bake some chocolate chip cookies, and head out for giant beers and German food with friends. And now we’ll have to do some serious exercise this week I think! ;)
How was your weekend? We didn’t get up to too much exciting really, but it was still nice!
On Friday I attended the launch of the new Brother embroidery sewing machine (Innov-is V7) which was really interesting! Can you believe the flower in the top left photo was actually created on the machine? Amazing! Their office was located really high up in one of the city buildings, so I also spent a bit of time just admiring the view hehe.
We also managed to fit in a visit to Sculpture Square for a yummy coffee and muffin, dinner and a movie (the tall ship above was moored just next to where we had dinner), some second hand furniture shopping, and finished the weekend by making dumplings for chicken wonton soup! Our weekends have a funny way of always revolving around food.. ;)
Monday, Monday, Monday.. always comes so quickly doesn’t it?! No complaints here though, we had such a great weekend!
How was yours?
Dave and I went on our favourite late afternoon hike on Friday (through Hort Park and up to Henderson Waves Bridge), the weather was beautiful so it made for a really nice walk.
Then on Saturday we went to check out the new indoor marketplace PasarBella which was fun! Followed by a wander around the Arab Quarter, and dinner and drinks at Dempsey Hill (I fell head over heels for the wooden bear above, who was situated at the front of a really cool bar). Sunday was much more lazy, and I didn’t take any photos.. we ended up at a shopping mall, wandering the stores with thousands of other people ;)
I hope your weekend was just as good! x
