DIY Faux Dipped Legs

August 23, 2013 | DIY

After I’d finished the stool from yesterday’s DIY, I went looking around our apartment for something else I could attack with Washi Tape. I decided pretty quickly that this little lady with her lovely peg legs needed some faux gold-dipped legs STAT.

It’s a much more subtle look than yesterday’s bright teal, but I really love how the gold looks with this timber.

It was a piece of cake to do too, just upturn your table (or chair/stool etc), take some MT Casa Tape in whatever colour you choose (normal width washi tape would work too), measure down the leg to the point at which you want the tape to start, and get sticking! Repeat for each leg.

NOTE: Washi Tape is quite gentle, but if you’re worried about what it might do to your furniture/walls once it’s removed, please do a test first!!

Voila! It’d look great in a bright colour too don’t you think? Maybe around dining chairs, or a hall table.. so many possibilities! And if it turns out you don’t like it, or want a change… just take it off ;)

And now I’m off for the weekend.. I hope you all have a good one! See you Monday. x

Oh, I love this! And I love this table – where did you buy it?

Hi Mirela! I got the table at a local shop called Second Charm.

  2. Wow, what a smart idea! I change my mind about colors a LOT so this is a perfect solution for me. Thank you!

  3. I love this! I just did a striped wall with washi tape on my blog. I am also looking for more things to washi! Might have to give this a try…

  4. I love this idea!

  5. Love, love, LOVE this!
I’m definitely going to give it a go! (with regular size washi tape though, haven’t had the luck to find rolls of ‘casa’ ones yet!).
