More Geometric Stamp Possibilities!

May 2, 2013 | DIY

I had so much fun putting together the DIY Geometric Stamp Town a few weeks ago that I thought it’d be great to see what other things I could create using the same set of geometric stamps. And here’s what I came up with!

Firstly – who knew you could make such cute animals with just squares, triangles and rectangles?!

It took a bit of imagination on my part to figure out how to represent different animals geometrically, but in the end I think it worked out quite well! It’s best to test out the animal you have in mind on scrap paper first, just incase they don’t quite turn out :)

And secondly, I wanted to try my hand at creating a pattern using just one shape. In this case, I chose a smallish triangle, and this was the result:

What do you think? I quite like how both these experiments turned out.. and there are so many more possibilities! I’m sure you’d be able to come up with some really gorgeous and unique artworks with just these few geometric shapes.

I’d love to see them if you do! :)

PS. If you want to see the stamps I made for this, head over to this post where you can even download a template!

How did you manage to get the design for the triangles so straight in the second design??

Hi Guo Wei, I just measured and drew a very light pencil line across the bottom of the page where I wanted the triangles to start. I tried not to print directly over it though so I could just rub it out after the first line was stamped. :)
