{Freebie} Weekly Planner Printable

February 1, 2016 | Freebies

I’m probably the only person on earth who hasn’t quite embraced the calendar on my phone.. I feel like I’m stuck in the dark ages because I just don’t get it. It doesn’t feel intuitive to me and I feel silly that it’s managed to dupe me. Surely I can’t be the only one?! I just prefer good old pen and paper. So, in a bid to become a little more organised (as per this post) and to keep track of playdates and appointments, I’ve created a free weekly planner that can be printed out, stuck on the wall and written on as things come up.

Weekly Planner FreebieI decided to break it up into Morning, Lunch, Afternoon, and Evening (as that’s just how my day seems to be segmented at the moment with Arlo) and have left the cells big so it allows for plenty of writing room. Even though I use it more as an activity calendar, you could also use it as a meal planner, or a to-do list for each day.. whatever you like, really!

Here it is in action, taped to our kitchen wall. Also note Arlo’s spectacular red Chinese lantern for Chinese New Year. Best looking lantern I’ve ever seen.. #childprodigy #modestmum

So if you haven’t really fallen in love with your digital calendar either, I hope you’ll find this printable version useful :) I’ve made it in both A4 and Letter. Enjoy!

Heather’s Story (+ free iPhone wallpapers!)

June 7, 2015 | Freebies, Miscellaneous

Have HopeDid you know that it’s National Cancer Survivors Day today? I had no idea until recently, but really – what a fantastic thing to celebrate! With all the horrible things that come up in the news, doesn’t it feel good to celebrate something as happy and positive as kicking cancer’s butt? I think so.

SO… In honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, I wanted to share Heather Von St. James story. She is a 9-year survivor of a very rare and deadly form of cancer called mesothelioma.

Meet Heather

Heather works tirelessly to spread awareness for this little-known cancer and the dangers of asbestos, so please read more about her and mesothelioma below – or even better, head over to Heather’s website to learn more, lend your support, and to watch a very touching video of Heather and her family.

THEN, because we all love free stuff (right?!), I’ve created some new iPhone wallpapers in honour of National Cancer Survivors Day – yay! They’ll be available at the end of the post :)

Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma is a rare and deadly form of cancer, caused by exposure to asbestos – a building material used in the 70’s and 80’s. It has since become known for being potentially lethal if the dust is inhaled (and thankfully has been banned in Australia for quite a few years now) however in the US and Canada it’s still used in some building materials (!!).

Heather’s Story
Heather was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2005, after having inhaled asbestos dust from her Father’s work jacket when she was a child. It’s a very agressive form of cancer, and will normally take a person’s life within the first year of diagnosis. Incredibly, Heather had her left lung removed in order to save her life, and has now been cancer-free for 9 years! Amazing :)

While I was watching the video on Heather’s website, I noticed that she talks a lot about hope, and says that “with hope, the odds don’t matter”, which I thought was a lovely sentiment. So, in honour of Heather, and of all the amazing cancer survivors out there I’ve created 4 free “Hope” iPhone wallpapers for you to download.
