Man, this year is flying. I’m sure I say that every year, but I can’t believe it’s the middle of October already! I got a bit of a wakeup call when I noticed the halloween party fliers go up in our condo lobby… it can’t be halloween time again already?! Well, I guess it can. Eesh.
I thought it might be helpful to pull together a few fantastic, quick DIY’s and printables from around the web to get in the spooky spirit – just in case you’re like us and Halloween just crept up on you this year! Time to get my craft on!
1. Printable Stick-o Treats from Oh Happy Day 2. DIY Pun-kins from Studio DIY 3. Jack-O-Lantern Balloons from A Subtle Revelry 4. Carved Pineapple from A Subtle Revelry 5. Halloween Coloring Pages from Mr. Printables
For the first time in years we live in an apartment building with lots of kids, so I might have to craft up some Spook-pops to give the trick-or-treaters :)
In case you’d like to check out some of the other Halloween DIYs I’ve done in years past, here they are… oldies but goodies!
6. DIY Creepy Crawly Insect Lamps 7. DIY Houses by Night 8. DIY Spook-Pops
Happy crafting! x
Hey guys! Are you all having a nice weekend? For everyone in the US – Happy 4th for yesterday! :)
We’re spending most of the weekend (well, while Arlo’s napping anyway) packing up our apartment for the move in a couple of weeks. Let’s be honest, not much packing gets done with an 11 month old around.. so we’re starting early and giving ourselves plenty of time. Still, not a load of fun really.
So instead of packing right now, I’m taking a break to look at some other much more interesting things – like DIYs to try! How great are these?
1. Dishwasher Safe Hand Painted Dishes from Delia Creates 2. Spring Garden Mantelpiece from Design Sponge 3. Citronella Candles from Sugar and Charm 4. Flower arrangement from Atilio 5. Copper Candles from The Merry Thought.
And because there are such sweet Kids DIYs around at the moment, I’ve put a few of my favourites together below too :) Kids’ stuff is always so cute!
6. Bag of Rhymes and Finger Puppets from Ukkonooa 7. Summer Straw Necklace from Say Yes 8. Make-A-Face Apron from Mer Mag 9. Sky Blocks from Lovely Indeed.
I hope you guys find these as inspiring as I do! Have a happy weekend :)
Last year, when we found out we were going to be having a baby, we were super excited (as many people are, I think) at the prospect of decorating a nursery for our little boy.
We decided that we’d convert our guest room into the new nursery, which is the smallest (tiny!) room in the apartment. Because we’re in a rental, we were pretty limited with what we could change, so unfortunately the walls couldn’t be painted, and the ugly beige curtains had to stay. But we tried to make the most of it!
Before I show you what we ended up with, I thought I’d share some of my inspiration.. we really wanted earthy blues and greens, lots of neutral, and a touch of mid-century mod. I also didn’t really want it to look overly “baby”.
Pinterest was my best friend while I was looking around for inspiration (of course!)… here’s some of what grabbed my eye:

So with all that in mind, I went on the hunt for the perfect furniture and accessories – or at least, something close to what I’d seen online. A few of the items I put together below aren’t what we ended up with (as they weren’t available here in Singapore), but were a good starting point for style. We’d also been generously gifted a few items – the Eames Elephant, the Stokke Sleepi cot, and loads of beautiful books – so we went from there :)
1. Oliver Jeffers Books 2. Utopia Elephant Lamp 3. Alhede Rug 4. Ellipse Dresser 5. Stokke Sleepi Crib 6. Baby Jives Cloud Mobile 7. Poang Chair 8. Eames Elephant
I’ll come back in a couple of days and share some photos of the finished room with you guys… we’re really happy with how it turned out :)
I thought it was high time I did another freebie for you guys, so here are a couple of fun postcards for you to print out and stick to your wall (or send to someone if you want!).
They’re not for any particular holiday or to any specific theme.. sometimes it’s more fun to design that way!
I just wanted to put something up on my wall that would inspire me of a morning when I sat down at my computer, fresh and ready to take on a new day.. so I hope you’ll enjoy looking at them for a bit of inspiration, or “just because” :)
You can grab all 4 designs in A4 or Letter format here:
I’d recommend printing them out on a heavy white paper. The colours may vary a bit from on the screen – as you can see, mine printed out a little more blue!
Enjoy! And if you’d like to see any of my other Freebies, head over here. :)
