Morning all!
I’m really excited to be starting a new weekly segment here today!
It’s called Words, and will involve me challenging myself creatively every week by taking a saying or song lyrics, and drawing them in a creative way. The idea will be to try out new mediums (like watercolour – coming up next week!) and… I’m not allowed to touch the computer. This will be a big challenge for me! Even just now when I uploaded my first ‘words’ attempt, I had to consciously stop myself from fixing my mistakes!
The whole ‘words’ idea came from looking at this book I saw online the other day… It’s called Quoteskine by Lee Crutchley, and contains a heap of drawings he’s done of lyrics and sayings.. so I thought it would be a great chance for me to test myself every week and give it a go myself.. and so far, I’m loving it!
Please be kind.. this is my first attempt! I was a bit nervous being my first one and all, but I’m hoping I will get better with time :)
These words are from the song Brother Sparrow by Agnes Obel. After I’d done the sketch in pencil I had every intention of painting over it, but then couldn’t bring myself to potentially ruin it, so left it as it was! haha
