Loving… Ta Ta Indian Wood Stamps

June 10, 2013 | Loving...

Hello friends! Welcome to a new week :)

I thought we’d kick-start the week by looking at something extra special that I’ve been meaning to post about for a while now.. Indian block printing!

I was reminded of my love for this artform a few months ago when I came across this video from West Elm – it’s so dreamy, it makes me want to dash off to India immediately. If you aren’t sure what block printing is, this video will be a great introduction :)

It’s a very old way of printing using hand-carved wooden blocks, and the results can be spectacular. It’s easy to forget, though, that the hand-carved wooden blocks can be just as beautiful as the finished results! Just take a look at these beauties from Ta Ta Indian Wood Stamps on Etsy…

Ta Ta Indian Wood Blocks

Aren’t they amazing? I find it hard to imagine that someone actually chipped away at each one by hand to create these intricate designs… clearly they’re very skilled and have a lot of patience haha!

Wouldn’t they be a great way to give block printing a go at home? Or even to use as display.. the designs are just too pretty! What would you do with them? Do you think you’d try printing with them? :)

Another way you can have a go at block printing is to carve your own block (from lino!). Here are a couple of great tutorials – from Pretty Prudent and Everything Golden.

I hope you’re as inspired by block printing as I am! x

Inspired by Vintage Bicycles

June 6, 2013 | Inspired by...

For Christmas last year I bought Dave one of Quaint Co.‘s Vintage Camera Print sets, which we both really love – and which was even more beautiful in person! They’re actually screen printed, not just digitally printed, so have a lovely feel to them.

Anyway, I went back to their site the other day and noticed they’ve now also got Vintage Bicycle Prints! There’s just something so charming about vintage bicycles, don’t you think?

Vintage Bicycles

Around the same time as discovering the bicycle prints, I also happened to stumble across these actual vintage-style bicycles from Papillionaire.. aren’t they fantastic?! I would love to have one in cream I think.. and with a basket of course ;) I’d probably also have to pretend I was living in Paris and fill my basket with fresh flowers and bread sticks. Perfect!

Papillionaire has loads of gorgeous bike styles and in lots of different colours too. Which would you choose?

If you love vintage bicycles as much as I do, make sure you go and check out Quaint Co. for some bicycle inspired artwork, or Papillionaire for the real deal! Happy biking :)

{Freebie} Postcards

May 30, 2013 | Freebies

I thought it was high time I did another freebie for you guys, so here are a couple of fun postcards for you to print out and stick to your wall (or send to someone if you want!).

They’re not for any particular holiday or to any specific theme.. sometimes it’s more fun to design that way!

I just wanted to put something up on my wall that would inspire me of a morning when I sat down at my computer, fresh and ready to take on a new day.. so I hope you’ll enjoy looking at them for a bit of inspiration, or “just because” :)

You can grab all 4 designs in A4 or Letter format here:

A4Letter

I’d recommend printing them out on a heavy white paper. The colours may vary a bit from on the screen – as you can see, mine printed out a little more blue!

Enjoy! And if you’d like to see any of my other Freebies, head over here. :)

Loving… Laikonik – and a Promo just for you!

May 16, 2013 | Loving...

Being an Aussie, I’m always on the look out for gorgeous Aussie designers and creators, and Laikonik fits the bill perfectly. You might remember them from this post a few months ago, but I thought it was high time we gave them a feature of their own.

Run by Kasia and Josephine from Sydney, Laikonik is a small screen printing studio that produces the most beautiful memory books and photo albums, gorgeous kits that you can send out to your loved ones to announce the birth of your new baby, and folk-inspired prints and wall-hangings. So super sweet! Wouldn’t they make a great gift?

If you’re as smitten with Laikonik as I am, today is your lucky day! Kasia and Josephine are graciously offering Fellow Fellow readers a free Silk Screen Print with every purchase of $50 or more! And in your choice of colour! How awesome is that?!

Here’s all you have to do to get your free poster with purchase:

– Head over to Laikonik and add whichever product/s you’d like to your cart (each product must be $50 or over to qualify for the free print).
– Once you’ve finished shopping, go to the checkout and leave a Note to Seller telling Kasia which colour Silk Screen Print/s you’d like to receive. You’ve got the option of Green, Red, White, Charcoal, Blue, and Yellow.
– Then just finish the transaction as usual.

Note: You’ll receive one Silk Screen Print for every product of $50 or more purchased, so don’t forget to write in which colour Silk Screen Print you’d like for each purchase.
