Can you tell I’m having fun with these layered paper words? :)
Here’s the process: I drew the word, scanned it in, traced it, then cut out the layers on my cutting machine and glued them together. Not entirely handmade, but from start to finish it’s my creation.. and it was fun! :)

I’m not sure if anyone will pick it, but this quote is from Monsters Inc. (Mike Wazowski sings it to Celia at one point). It just randomly popped into my head the other day (I haven’t even watched the movie lately) so I took it as a sign :)

Another set of lyrics from Brother Sparrow by Agnes Obel! I was quite happy with how this one turned out, except that I got a bit confused with the shadow angles haha.. just don’t look too closely :)
A few months ago, as a birthday present, I received some more of these beautiful mugs from a dear German friend of mine. One of them was stamped with the phrase ‘durch die Blume’ which literally translates to ‘through the flowers’ but actually means something more like ‘to beat around the bush’ or to say something in a roundabout way so as to not offend.
German people out there – please correct me if I’m wrong!
Anyway, it was a new saying to me, and I liked it so though it would be perfect for today’s words exercise :) What do you think?
