Aude and Martin Part II

January 15, 2013 | Photography

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday!

I thought I’d share the second half of Aude and Martin’s big day with you today. Get ready for a photo-heavy post! :)

After the ceremony and kite flying on the beach (you can find those photos here, in case you missed them!), we ducked off to snap some portraits of this gorgeous couple. I actually feel very lucky to have been their photographer that day, because in the end it meant Dave and I got to have them all to ourselves for an hour while we snapped our photos! I remember from our own wedding last year that we didn’t get to spend as much quality time with our guests as we’d hoped, so to actually get some one-on-one time with our beloved friends was wonderful!

Being a beach-side location, what better dinner to serve than fish and chips! Aude and Martin had even hand stamped each individual bag… brilliant!

Everything about this wedding reflected the relaxed warmth of Aude and Martin, and the incredible relationship they have with their family and friends. Almost everything associated with the wedding was handmade by a family member (many of whom had travelled from Switzerland to be there), and was full of touching moments that made the whole day something incredibly special… A perfect day for wonderful couple. Thanks for having me Aude and Mart x.

Aude and Martin Part I

January 8, 2013 | Personal, Photography

The wedding took place in Fremantle, Western Australia on a cool and stormy afternoon in November. Everything about it was perfection – the beach-side Gallery location, the garland decorations, the handmade kites given out to each guest (to fly on the beach), and of course the amazing couple we were all there to celebrate. Aude and Mart.

I had the pleasure of being their photographer for the day, and (once I’d gotten over the nervs) had such a blast!

Once the ceremony was over, we were each given a kite that had been handmade from scratch by Aude’s incredible family. We then all went down to the beach to fly them.. it was such a spectacular sight!

Part II will be up next week! In the mean time, do make sure you head over to Aude’s blog to see some of the special details they created for the wedding :)

A Lovely Lettered Invitation

November 12, 2012 | Design, Personal

Hi guys, happy Monday!

I’m currently still in Perth, recovering from an incredible wedding over the weekend! It was our dear friends Aude and Martin’s big day, and I was lucky enough to design their invitations a little while back! So I just wanted to drop in and show you the results, now that the wedding is over.

Aude is Swiss, and Martin is Australian.. so the right-hand side of the invitation was in French, and the left in English. They had the invites letterpressed, which turned out beautifully!

And what a day the wedding was.. ahhh. Can’t wait to share some pictures! :)

The Wedding Part 2

August 27, 2012 | Personal, Wedding

Well, I’m back with the second half of our wedding photos today, I hope you weren’t wedding’d out from the last lot!

These photos are all about the ceremony and reception. We held the ceremony at a little old railway station called Spring Bluff, on a beautifully green patch of lawn just metres away from the track. There was a train scheduled to go through the station 10 minutes into the ceremony (which had me sliiiightly worried), but the driver *bless his heart* instead stopped around the other side of the mountain until he was sure the ceremony would be over. What a nice guy! He then put on a show for us all by driving through and tooting his horn while we were all eating cake and chatting. Couldn’t have worked out better :)

After the ceremony, family photos, cutting the cake (we decided on cutting it early while people were hungry and enjoying a cup of tea), and more photos in a beautiful field with the setting sun, we headed back to my parent’s house for the reception (held in their backyard). Something I hadn’t expected though, was that our 80 guests had been waiting to welcome us, lining the path, armed with confetti they were all too happy to throw at us. It was honestly one of my most favourite parts of the day because it was a surprise from my Mum, and I had no idea it was coming. On a day that you plan for months and months, meticulously, down to every detail.. it was so special that there could still be some surprises!

Anyway, enough talking.. I’m sure you can get the idea from the photos :)

The Wedding Part 1

August 21, 2012 | Personal, Wedding

Yes, OUR wedding.. I know it’s be months, but I’m finally sharing some of our beautiful photos with you!

I don’t even know where to begin.. it was absolutely the most beautiful day! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding.. from the stunning weather (after a full week of cold rain), to the surprise confetti-ing we received as we entered the reception, to celebrating with friends and family we haven’t seen for a while.. It was amazing.

As opposed to doing one giant post with hundreds of photos, I’ve decided to break them into two more manageable parts. First up – the pre-ceremony madness. Dave and I decided to have a ‘first look’ so we could take some photos prior to the ceremony and ultimately spend more time with our guests later. However it didn’t quite go to plan because, as ever the fashionable bride, I was running late. So we literally saw each other, had a few snaps of us seeing each other and then ran to the cars so we could get to the ceremony on time. Madness I tell you. Turned out there was nothing to worry about, I ended up being quite early to the ceremony and got to watch all of our guests arrive from the comfort of the car :)

I think I’ll just let the photos do the talking! They’re all by our wonderful friend and photographer Bec Johnson :)

Part 2 will be the ceremony and reception :)
