Have you ever done a detox before? I haven’t, but I’ve been thinking about it for quite a while, just to kind of “reset” my body. So when I was at the airport last week and came across this book by Saimaa Miller, I thought I’d give it a go.

I’m only a couple of days in, but the recipes so far have been tasty and I’m feeling good – although I’d kill for some chocolate or cake. It’s particularly hard at dinner time when I have soup broth while the husband has a really nice looking steak. Waaaah. Don’t get me wrong, the soup tastes nice enough, but the steak would really hit the spot. I just have to keep telling myself it’s good for me! And it’s only for a little while ;)

  2. Wow, good for you! I don’t like sugar, so I rarely find it in the things I eat. I more struggle with sodium. Gimme salt and I’m good to go! I can’t wait to hear about how you feel once you’re finished!

  3. wow, good for you, I could never do that! My “detox” ing is cutting out white sugar products, white rice, and white pasta. have a good day!

    Thanks for being so encouraging Rach, Margeaux and Sarah! It’s not been easy I must admit.. but I’ve only got a couple of days to go! It’s not a super hardcore detox I don’t think (most meals are solid and substantial), and I haven’t exactly been super strict about it all (most days I’ll have a green smoothie for afternoon tea even though it’s not in the plan.. such a rebel) but I’ve managed to stay away from gluten, sugar, and most dairy (just a little yoghurt each night). So far so good! :)
